Embedding photos on the forum from Flickr

Hey,

I've been trying to understand how i can insert some photo's from my flickr account into the new thread to display here on the forums...

I was able to find a discission on flickr about this method

url="url of the photo page"]
[/url

Brackets removed to enable me to post most of it...

Could someone explain to me what url goes in each section? Im rather confused

Thanks, James.

If you are using Firefox then just get this plugin
Works like a charm.

Re: Embedding photos on the forum from Flickr

Post #10 in this thread gives a good guide.

the Only change is now you also need to add the word link every time you have img to give imglink.

Give it a whirl.

Re: Embedding photos on the forum from Flickr

I tend to have 2 browsers open..One my thread posting page and the other flickr.

When you have decided which picture you want to post, copy contents from the address bar. Then click the globe icon and paste and click ok.Straight away click the envelop icon.now from the tray bring up flickr again and choose all sizes...pick the size that you want.
Then copy the code from the smaller of the 2 code options and paste it into your waiting box that you just opened.

That should give you a clickable image without mucking around swapping and replacing code etc.

You'll still need to add "imglink" though won't you? Otherwise it doesn't link back (i think!).

Re: Embedding photos on the forum from Flickr

I don't change any code to link either? should I?

My process is similar to tontoshorse's

Have two windows open one for here and one for flickr

Navigate to the required photo and click on the medium size image (500 width / height)

Copy the text in the smaller of the two code boxes

Click on the insert image icon above (yellow square mountain scene)

then on the flickr page click the 'back to flickr photo page'

copy the url in the address bar and navigate back to your post here (other window) your pic shold still be active in the post reply window, then click the insert link icon above (globe with a kink in it) paste the url fromflickr in it and press ok...job done

The imglink insertion came from this info:

Strange one mate, I posted these yesterday, not had many views on them maybe that's why and me thinking they were just sheeeite pics

http://www.avforums.com/forums/digit...al-antics.html

I can open them to the desired size direct to flickr but maybe that's because they are my pics?? maybe others just get an invalid link?

No mate, you're right -they are linking through fine, nice donkey

Looks like the imglink isn't needed then

sorry for the confusion.
