Question Tamron, Sigma, etc warranty?

Thinking about getting fast lens Tamron 17-50 f2.8 or Sigma abroad as i'm away in 3 weeks and just wondering if the warranty valid in UK?
I know that Nikon warranty valid worldwide but not sure about the rest.

Thanks

Re: Tamron, Sigma, etc warranty?

Sigma wont honour grey imports. You have to declare them and pay the duty. No idea on the Tamrons.

Re: Tamron, Sigma, etc warranty?

Tamron will honour a lens bought elsewhere in the world.
The 28-75 that I bought 2-3 years ago was sent back to their UK distributors for calibration, and it was all done under warranty.
All I had to do was provide proof of purchase. In my case it was a Japanese receipt, so it's lucky that they had a Japanese intern who could read the fax that I sent in.
