| Re: What kind of lens is this
Hi there,
Full details of these types of lenses can be found on the Sanyo website. They are all good quality Sanyo lenses designed to fit and work with your current camcorder.
The Sanyo VCP-L06WU is simply a wide angle lens that converts the current lens into 0.6x magification. i.e 38 - 380mm into a 23-228mm lens (35mm equivalent).
Likewise the VCP-LO7WU also offer a wide angle conversion, though not as much, it offer 0.7 magnification so this would convert your lens into a 27-266mm lens.
Both will be good quality, although expect some barrel distortion and a slight drop off in sharpness particularly at the edges of the view.
The 49mm lens adaptor, I believe is a simple hollow adapter that allows a lens to fit compatible with 49mm size filter thread.
Does a 1.6x telephoto lens increase the zoom magnification by 1.6?, i.e 10 x appears to be 16 x zoom? Yes, correct.
How does the lens affect video recording? i.e if I set the camera to record at 720P will the image look distorted when played back if using a wide angle lens. The resolution you set doesn't matter, but expect some barrel distortion with a wide angle lens.
Hope this helps
