Where to get Photobooks?

Has anyone had experience of websites other than photobox for ordering photobooks? I have been impressed with the one I ordered from photobox but was hoping for cheaper ones, from the likes of fastlab for instance.

Cheers

Ben

Re: Where to get Photobooks?

Have a look at Aldi's Photobook service here.

I know nothing about it, but Aldi's quality and prices are generally pretty good.

Cheers,

Martin.

Re: Where to get Photobooks?

blurb.com are excellent.

I recently did one and the quality is top notch. You download some software to your PC, set up the book with pictures & text, then upload it to them (all done in the software package). They then send you the book a week or so later.

Check it out & click on "Book Preview".

Re: Where to get Photobooks?

Seen a couple of examples of these and they're very good.
Recently had a couple done from Kodak. Not bad presentation but printing wasn't quite as good as I'd hoped.

Re: Where to get Photobooks?

half price photobooks at jessops

never had one done but at half price they seem good value for money

Simply choose your book size and cover style, upload and arrange your photos and captions and use coupon code SUMMERBOOK at the checkout by midnight Sunday 14th September 2008 to claim your 50% discount

Re: Where to get Photobooks?

any with software that works on a mac? Presumably the apple ones are built into iphoto08?

used photobox before, but trying recently on my macbook and the browser window is just too tiny to properly preview the photos, and there isn't enough flexibility on layout, especially portrait or any standard 3:2 aspect ratios

I remember one I did a couple of years ago, I ended up using photoshop to put together photos in my preferred layout, and uploaded them to photobox as full pages.

Re: Where to get Photobooks?

Ive had a couple from Blurb as well and while i wasn't impressed at all with the 7x7 book the 10x8 looked fine.
I believe the 7x7's are printed a different way (above 7x7's are printed on an Indigo i believe) so that would explain it. Colours seemed to be all over the place. The 8x10's seemed ot match some prints i also had done quite well although i found them a little dark.
Its more like a book (of course) than photographic prints but everyone i showed it too was very impressed.
Guess what all the relatives will be getting for Christmas ;-)

Blurb are a US site right? You say they delivered in around a week to the UK? That's good.

I am surprised no-one has mentioned yophoto as they are very good too and use the same HP Indigo 5000 printer that Blurb do (though they use a more glossy paper compared to Blurb's semi-matte).

Bob Books looks good, I had wanted to make an 8"x8" or thereabouts for a wedding I've done recently but the clients are on a tight budget and I couldn't find anything suitable. I've alsmost finished the design now and plan to print it as a landscape photobook from yophoto but I'd be interested to know more from bob books users as the square photobook is a very good price.
