I think the 20 to 40% is verging on being a tad low. Deffinately has the potential to earn you a bit from your photography though. I reserve judgement untill I see what prices they are selling images for but at least it doesn't look like it's going to be £1 an image.

Sounds like an excellent move by Getty. They get access to a huge microstock library for virtually no effort at all. No need to vett photographers, set up a separate web site etc etc.

Cant see the Getty pros being over happy about it though, but then again the average Flickr member doesn't get prime access to key events. So we end up with a general populace microstock market for everyone, and a high-league professional editorial production shop for high profile news & sport.

I bet iStockPhoto and Fotolia et al are a bit worried.
