Little spider guarding nest

Been after this little chap/chapess for a while now but could never really get close enough.
Up until now the nearest I have managed is this shot which is heavily cropped.

Got a bit closer today

Superb! In no.1 I really like the way the spider seems to be integrated with its web.

Re: Little spider guarding nest

I saw the first pic and though "ahh... hmm" and then jumped a bit when I scrolled down

Brilliant stuff Mike, but just think what it would have like with a Sigma 150 on a D300

Indeed, I mean we all know it's the equipment that makes the photograph, not the person taking it

I did actually toy wiith the idea of buying THIS up until it got to a price where I would have been singing soprano had the wife seen the cost. (and it's not even AF)
Supposedly the best macro lens made by any manufacturer ever (but then that probably was said by a Pentax owner).
