Ye olde toon
I must remember to post a few up as soon as I finish the PP on them, sorry theres a few like anyway I think this part of Newcastle suits the old B+W treatment, not the proper HDR way but mainly 3 from 1 (should I just say tonemapped instead of HDR?) added the drop shadow border aswell, it looks good on Flickr and I keep the borderless ones as Tiffs anyway

Re: Ye olde toon
All excellent, but 5, 9 and 10 are amazing. Almost painting-like.

Thanks, the one thing I'm hopeless at is cloning and you can see in 9 down the middle of the clouds where I tried to clone out a wire

Lol, looks to me like a feature of the clouds.

Re: Ye olde toon
I quite like these, the skies you have caught are great, really moody with the combination of mono and HDR.
The shot from inside Bessie Surtees house is great but I personally think it could be improved by adjusting the verticals so that it doesn't converge as much and darken down that light patch top left, the light streaming through the window is really nice
From the outdoor shots #4 and #9 are my picks.
Cloning was something that I always found a challenge until someone told me how to do it on a seperate layer. Assuming you are in Photoshop, create a new layer then simply make sure 'sample all layers' is ticked in the toolbar at the top of the screen then you can clone on a new layer and tweak it just so you get it right. Use a brush decent sized brush (if you can get away with it) and set the hardness to as low as it will go and build the cloning up slowly

Re: Ye olde toon
Very impressive - "Dickensian feel" to many of the pictures
9 + 10 are my picks.
