Anyone here go along ? I went yesterday and was amazed by the range of gear (photographic rather than automotive !) on show. I felt quite inadequate with my D80 & 18-200vr. Uploaded a few to flickr, all Photoshopped cropped, and sharpened.

Nice shots, it looks like they had a decent day of it.
I wish they wouldn't test there right before the race though, since now it wont be much of a surprise result (assuming Kimi's Ferrari holds together this time!! ).

I wonder what shutter speed would be required to read the manufacturer name on the tyres down the straighrs?
Nice shots.

Nice pics. What did you do to combat the fencing?
Security was a lot slacker when I started taking pics there, i just went under the fence, and when the marshalls saw me taking photos, they just asked me to stop any members of the public who went the wrong side of the fence. Those were the days. How I'd have loved a digital camera.

I went on Thursday had a cracking day. I was practicing my panning it gets rather difficult when you are trying to focus over the Fence and the odd big blue speaker gets in the way I was shooting 1/250 to get some blurr on the wheels quite a lot were rubbish but heres the results of what I think are acceptable

Nice. Yes those big blue speakers do ruin a few shots.
Guess these were taken with the 70-300vr, were you using the "active" VR setting ? Reviewing my best shots, thought I was using Active then realised I had VR turned off altogether....oops. All in all didn't reach much of a conclusion re Active VR.
Got lots of shots of Jensen going around, and around, and around...etc. Crikey he must have been tired and dizzy by the end of the day.
