Upgrading camera. Advice please

I'm currently using a Canon Ixus 430.
It's 4MP and has up 11x zoom.
It's all there in the link.
I mainly use it when going to see live bands, so basicly mostly dark and some times smokey conditions and obviously I'm not always the same distance from the stage, so I use the zoom all the time at different levels.
Here are some of the kind of photos I've been taking with it since buying it back in 2004(I think).

I've finally decided to get something better, partly because the memory card door is broken and wont lock shut any more.
Anyway, I was looking at the Ixus 75 as a possible replacement, but I'm not too sure.
I've read all the specs but it doesn't say wether it has a digital zoom like the 430.
The advantages of it over the 430 are that it has a bigger screen and it thinner design, as well as other cool features.
Also, which type of memory card does it take(and what sizes and prices are available) and are spare (preferably official) batteries easy and cheap to buy?

Re: Upgrading camera. Advice please

The ixus 75 is a great little camera - it will take an sd or sdhc card and will have a digital zoom (and I think 7mp). Tbh, you'd be better of ignoring the digital zoom and jsut cropping the part of the pic you need on your pc - it will get a similar if not better end result. The optical zoom is 3x and digital will be similar to what you have already

Batteries are available (and again I would be too worried about getting Canon originals) and cheap on ebay - a quick look found 2 for £6 delivered. SD cards are cheap too: a 2gb card is £6 and a 4gb £8.50 from play.com

Re: Upgrading camera. Advice please

Awsome!
Thanks for the info.
I'd had my eye on the 75 because of the price and it's look/size.
If the digital zoom is at least as good as what I currently have, and what with it being 3.1MP better than my current camera, I think I'll be investing in it pretty soon.
