A right show off

I'm not a big one for photographing birds, but this little fella was just asking for it.

Re: A right show off

Thats a beaut. The sharpness of its head is helped so much by the out of focus feathers behind, but the nearer feathers are sharp showing detail. It leads your eye from the head, down the neck to the tail, then off into the background. Excellent.

Re: A right show off

Wonderful shot. The DOF makes it.

Re: A right show off

Thanks for the comments all.

The DOF control was pre planned. I did make another shot straight on from further back, but the head was completely lost. So, I got in closer and made the head a detail and angled it so the focus dropped right off against the slightly more distant plummage.
