Barcelona and a new lesson learned

I went to Barcelona on Sunday for a few days and managed to get only a few decent pictures..... But in a way I came back with one lesson. I will tell you that after some pictures.

A Spanish Space Invader

Sunrise

I did go mainly to watch the football at the Nou Camp it was a Christmas gift.

Take your seat

Row 9

Ronaldo

Oh and the lesson......A dslr will never fit in my pocket

Re: Barcelona and a new lesson learned

Those are great Gavin, especially the last 3. I love the Ronaldinho one, love how you've processed it.

Re: Barcelona and a new lesson learned

#4 & #5 are my favourites, a nice bit of spot colour in the last one

I did a few football tours a few years ago, San Siro / Bernebeau & also the Nou camp (great museum and tour).

It started out as full black and white but it never worked.

Yep - The last one is great - you know exactly who it is, and the treatment is really effective.

Re: Barcelona and a new lesson learned

Firstly, I love them, and for me the row 9 pic is my fav.

Secondly, I'm quite new to editing (read - absolute novice). Can you tell me the term called to describe the processing you've done on the Ronnie picture please? i.e. just elements of colour on chosen parts of the photo?

Can it be done with Photoshop elements or will I need something better?

Thanks in advance,
Chris

Re: Barcelona and a new lesson learned

Excellent series, really like 'take your seat' and 'row 9', great framing and processing on both

The game was wet and windy other than that the atmosphere was amazing and far different from being in Old Trafford.

Maybe the title helps

I normally don't do mono but it fits well.

Its called 'selective colour' I think in the FAQ a few examples are available regarding how to do it with each various bit of software.

All I did was a black and white image and then on another layer painted back using a mask the place that I wanted some colour. Very easy to do.
