What am I?
Ahoy!
An object that would be found in the home (not everyone has one like this).
This image has been selective coloured, reduced and fractalised in CS2, though it hasn't been distorted, so is true to form, but with a bit of pazazz.
I'm sure the regular anoraks will spot what it is.

Re: What am I?
Maybe I should've mentioned it's a macro, though it's not that relevant.

Re: What am I?
FYI, I'm going under the knife this afternoon (dental), so maybe offline for 24 hours. I'll check back when I can with either the answer and an image of the whole item or to confirm if anyone has correctly guessed.

Good luck fella.
I'm going for either a radiator thermostat or a glass on it's side

Nice try . . . but sadly . . No.
The image subject hasn't been rotated or adjusted from how you would normally see it other than what I've already pp'd in terms of colour etc.

WELL DONE! Actually it's a brass combo wall mounted dimmer/light switch (the button/knob in the centre), but that would be splitting hairs.
