Fog, Fire and a Fool

An American friend of mine emigrated back to America a couple years ago and
the pub he used is just round the corner from me and they recently closed it
and was to be demolished.
He asked me to take picture of it before it went for good and i took the first picture in the fog about 10 days

The last night it went up in flames and the gale force winds fanned the flames
making the nearby house to be evacuated, it took fire engines from about 6 stations to get it under control and they stayed all night and were still there mopping up this morning, with the road closed to traffic

While i was taken the second photo, this guy in the car, swerved around the fire engine, police car and barriers to get through, the old bill gave him a rollicking and made him turn back, theres one born every minute

I have a pathological hatred of the local rags Tonto, my first wife died in tragic circumstance about 15 years ago and the local rag attended the inquest and reported what was a very tragic event with the most flippant sensational headline that caused a great deal of distress to me and my 3 kids.
I wrote to the editor to complain, i got a letter of apology from the group managing director, but they flatly refused to print an apology in the paper

Since then i have never bought a local paper
