Thanks: Gave 616, Got 895 | Watersmeet
Went and took some pictures at a place called "Watersmeet", bit of a tourist trap in the summer but had the place to myself yesterday until 3 blokes in canoes turned up at one point
#1 (10mm 20s f/13 ND 106)
#2 (17mm 30s f/16 ND 106)
#3 (10mm 30s f/4 ND 106)
Any comments and criticisms are more than welcome

I think the water in all three looks amazing Dazza. Do you have a Flickr account you could make them clickable to so we can see the settings used?

I've updated the original post to show the settings I've used for each pic. It's the ND 106 that seem to make the most impact as it cuts the light so you can lengthen the exposure and also means your not stuck using appertures like F22 etc to try and acheive the same thing.

Nice shots. I used to mountain bike past here on the way down from Countisbury hill.
I think the first is the nicest, but it would have nicer still if you'd retained some sky detail.

I wonder if a graduated filter combined with the ND you've already got on there would make a difference to the sky. Worth a try. The water looks cool but the sky lets it down.
You could always point the camera down a bit more as an alternative |

I've heard the ND 80 is OK (don't own any mind), but Liquid is your man on this topic. Concur with #1 though. Hurrah to the Alpahmales!

Love the pictures especially the water flow, if you don't mind, where did you get your ND filter and what make is it? And also is it just like filter that you attached on the lens like UV filter or something like that?

I used ND2 and ND4 + CPL cokin filters

. | No, I stopped several years ago - Time reasons mostly, but falling into this very river one January morning didn't help (very funny to watch apparently). I have a Specialized Hybrid these days, no more downhills for me.

The filter just screws in exactly the same way are your UV filter does. The only downside is due to how dark the filter is you need a resonable amount of light to see through it. I'd say an ND8 would be a good investment and combined with a poloriser you'd get pretty much the same amount of stops of light.
