Is there a specific USB cable to be used with a Samsung S500 Digi Camera?

Brought one cheap for my sister for Xmas but it was XSTOCK (beware of XSTOCK from CCONLINE.com) Hadn't noticed it was XSTOCK.

Anyway just need to know what USB cable it is I have to get? Also anyone have the drivers/software on cd they could do me a copy of?

not sure on the cable mate id have to see one infront of me, but a suggestion that you dont need to plug the camera into the PC to transfer your photos. You may well be better off with a card reader. This will sit by your PC and you just remove your memory card from the camera, slot it into the reader and away you go.
They are often cheaper than the USB cables if samsung decided to make their own and the other advantage is your camrera does not have to be switched on and using up battery life while you transfer

have a search for USB card reader and find one for your card (probably SD i would imagine) it could cost you anywhere in the £5 to £15 region

I'm with Ush.

Card readers are much better way of transferring data, especially when you consider that your samsung requires a specific, smasung only lead that will cost you around £20

Precisely
. and you do away with the need for any drivers

meaning you can just get the images onto any PC with a USB slot very quickly!

and if you get a reader that does different types of card then other people can share photos with you if they come over, you can write photos onto cards for people and you dont need to throw it away if you change your camera. Probably one of the most useful bits of kit going for ALL users of digital cameras

Cheers for the help guys!

I've even got a USB reader sitting somewhere, and it'll stop my brother rinsing the batteries when he transfers pics but doesn't turn off the camera!
