a walk about with my "new" camera

Having just purchased a Contax RTS and Carl Zeiss Planar 1.4/50, I thought I would go have a wander with it.

It certainly is a wonder to use - very very well put together - everything about it just feels right. It has a HUGE bright viewfinder compared to the 350d - which is a joy to use.

I am getting the feeling I might be using a lot more film in the coming months.

All shot on Agfa APX100 and developed in Ilford DDX.

This gent was aproaching the Christmas Market in Bath with trepidation...

I know I missed the focus on this one, but I really like the cinematic feel of it

Random grafiti in Bath - not sure who its supposed to be...

A random post - testing bokeh

Re: a walk about with my "new" camera

Those pics have a beautiful "feel" to them. They look silky and smooth and somehow more characterful than digital shots. Very nice indeed. Maybe I've been spending too much time looking at Rene Burri shots though!

I presume you made prints and scanned them?

How do you meter the scene on that camera - is there a built-in light meter on it? Do you do aperture selection then set the shutter speed according to the metering readout?

Re: a walk about with my "new" camera

Thanks,

Some of that is the film - alot of it is due to the magic of Zeiss glass

No prints from them - they are scanned directly from the negatives.
There is a built in TTL meter and it has the option for manual and AV mode (equivalent of)

Excellent shots, and yet another example of why I still love film. Incidentally, which scanner did you use?
