Thumbs up D40 + Trip to Chicago

What a great trip! Managed to wangle our way into the Virgin Club house at Heathrow before the flight, then flew and returned on upper class, the only way to travel

Chicago is an awesome city, 4 days was long enough to see the sights, lots of walking and shopping. Most of the pics are taken on the lens kit, 18-55mm, polorising filter and minimal photoshop to tidy up levels etc. Couple were taken on the 50mm f1.8 - manual focus can be tricky! Its my first real attempt at DLSR photography and only had the D40 for 3 weeks, so go easy

Re: D40 + Trip to Chicago

I like the blues in your second one? Was that taken with your polariser?

Some lovely shots there-particularly the second in the Millenium Park which you may like to know was the second placed image in the Panachallenge this month see here

Re: D40 + Trip to Chicago

What a great set of shots.
Get them in an album and show them off as your holiday snaps. They are great.

Re: D40 + Trip to Chicago

Really like the 2nd, the people on the left give it a great sense of scale The saturation throughout the set is lovely apart from the last one with the highlights blown which detracts somewhat.

Very nice set of shots, 3 & 4 stand out for me but they're all good.
