I'm now a proud owner of a canon 24-105 f4 IS L lens and it feels nice It's my first red-ringed glass and also my first one with IS. Just got in about an hour ago so haven't played with it that much, but hope to take it out for a spin this weekend A very happy bunny.

Morning Banana. I'll be very interested to hear how you get on with this lens. I need to choose my main walkabout lens in the next month and right now this one is edging it. Keep us posted |

kinchy, I did exactly the same as you in terms of changing my walkabout from the 17-70 to this lens. I've still got the 17-70 for my wide shots but will eventually sell it and get a uwa lens like the 10-22.
Got my lens from Kerso directly for £570. He's given me a uk receipt so I'll be able to claim £35 cashback bringing it down to £535
To add something in the mix ... the 24-70mm f2.8 is a similar price after cashback which I thought was strange. I was umming and ahhing between the two, but extra reach and less weight was more of a priority for me.

Wowser. makes me want even more now. It is such a good loens by all accounts, i think im going to have to sell the 17-70 now and get this.
Works out at about £300 after money coming in + cashback etc etc
EDIT : i know Kerso is cheap, but iahve found it ion a U.S site for $1060 delivered to the UK. NOw so long as i dont get stung for import tax, and being that the dollar is currently just over 2 to 1, then thats just over £500 for this lens.
Surely im better off getting it from the US ??

I'd get used to the fact that you don't need to sharpen as much now Andy. All lovey photos with great saturation etc but the first looks a tad over sharpened to me.
