A few from North Yorkshire

#1 Roseberry Topping - I've seen a few shots by Joe Cornish from this spot - each radically different according to lighting and season. I thought I'd try one of my own...

#2 Nearby was this lone windswept tree. From this angle I quite liked the way the tree aligned with the cloud but maybe I should have taken a step to the left to include more of Roseberry Topping (the hill in the background).

#3 Wainstones 1

#4 Wainstones 2

#5 Wainstones 3

A few shots taken within a few yards of each other from the same place on the edge of the North Yorks Moors

#6 Black & White

Probably my favourite of this bunch. I've tweaked this quite a bit to try to recover detail in both shadows and highlights. Photomatix didn't look right so a few layers with variable exposure (from 1 RAW) were recombined manually with masks.

All clickable. Thanks for looking - C&C welcome.

nice set. I like 4 the best with the wide view and lovely light. I take it you were up there in the evening? Would probably look gorgeous at sunrise with a bit of mist.

Number 5 for me, I like the way you've framed it with the stones.

I like number 4 too although the colours look a little muted to me - I wonder if a polarizer would have helped.

Re: A few from North Yorkshire

Nice set of photos. Both those trees have character. Nice golden light on the first one.

Re: A few from North Yorkshire

Thanks to all for comments.
@Tobers - yes the misty morning shot might look good here - of course the light will be coming from behind the hils in the distance (just right of centre) so maybe a different angle would be needed too. I'm hoping to get back here around Christmas / New Year when there's a reasonable chance of a bit of a sprinkling of snow on the hills. I'll post if I get anything half-decent.

@Tomato1 - slightly bemused by this. I DID use a CPL which is evident from the fade from left to right in the sky. I must say that I try to keep any saturation boosts to a minimum and perhaps I could get away with more? On balance though ,this was a close representation to what I actually saw which probably guided my PP.
