Problems with quick time and Panasonic TZ3 at gig

My old Canon S30 gave up the ghost on holiday when the lens refused to come out to play so I have treated myself to a new Panasonic DMC-TZ3 after reading reviews on here and I must say I'm really pleased with it. An excellent compact camera with good interface and easy to use.

I've been trying out all the various options and had a go with a couple of small movies at some gigs. Playing back on the camera is no problem but once I have downloaded them on to the PC I can only use Windows Media Player or Real Player to view them. Quick Time or iTunes doesn't seem to work, audio is fine but video is just a load of flashing coloured horizontal lines which is strange as the format is .MOV which I thought was Quick Time format.

Quick Time is version 7.2 Any ideas what I can do or do I just stick to using Real Player ?

I used the intelligent ISO mode rather than Normal Picture Mode for the stills at the gig which seemed OK but was wondering if I should be looking at one of the other modes instead ?
