Sky needed please...

I'd like to get some texture to the sky of this taken this morning - there was absolutely no sky.
Its nice and grainy (800iso) with a soft light layer - Its NOT HDR!
The cathedral has a bit of distortion, thats cheap Nikon lenses for you.

Any one got some ideas - I've got Elements 4 and a small learning capacity

Cheers.

Re: Sky needed please...

Will this do? I use CS2 but I should think the basic controls are the same in elements.
If it’s OK I will explain how to do it!

Re: Sky needed please...

Right then, what you need to do is open a sky you like in elements, Ctrl A to select all, File Copy.
In your original picture select the ‘Magic Wand Tool (W)’, click to select all the sky, you might have to hold down shift to get it all, go to Select – modify – Expand – expand it by 2 pixels, now you have marching ants running all around your old sky, go to Edit – Paste Into, this will paste your previously copied new sky into the picture.
Hope this helps!
