B&W in Ireland

Here are two photos from Castle Leslie in Ireland which featured on TV's Most Haunted and where Paul McCartney and Heather Mills got married.
Shot in RAW today. I'm loving RAW. Wish I started sooner.
Both converted to B&W and tweaked here and there.
Hope you like.

Edit - I forgot to mention that the castle is supposed to be haunted! Although I suppose the mention of 'Most Haunted' was a dead giveaway.

#1 Castle Leslie

#2 The sunlight through the trees was rather lovely even though the church is distant and obscured somewhat.

C&C welcome

Re: B&W in Ireland

That second shot does look at bit eerie!

My only crit would be that the base of the main tree is too black - almost looks like a black hole on my monitor. Probably nothing unrecoverable tho since you shot in RAW.

Tomato, you're right about the black at the base of the tree. Thanks for pointing it out.
I liked the old gate in the second shot.

Re: B&W in Ireland

I only prefer no 2 because of the shadow in no 1... different time of day and I would pick no 1 - great composition.

Cheers for the comment, onefivenine. I've been to the Castle three times now and the first two times there were vehicles parked all around it. Although there were a few vehicles parked to the far left yesterday I still got a good clear view of the main part.
