Told to 'Put It Away'

I went to Wembley yesterday to watch England play with my son. I thought this would be the perfect outing for my 400D and 70-300 lens. So there I was stood by the side of the pitch getting some great shots before the game when I was told by a steward that 'professional cameras are not allowed!" I obviously tried to convince them that it was not a professional camera but was told that because it looked like one I had to put it away.

I also pointed out the fact that I was also wearing an England shirt, did this make me a professional player - They chose to ignore me

Anyway, I returned to my seat and got some excellent shots of the game. I am extremely impressed how close up I have been able to get.

My advice to anyone going to Wembley in the future is make sure you keep it hidden and don't look like a professional (I wish).

It was that nice long lens that done it, you do get some plonkers about, you should have said to him you are professional and you've forgotten your press pass any chance of getting pitch side

Re: Told to 'Put It Away'

I'm going to wembley in december for race of champions, still wondering if i should risk taking my camera with me... Might leave the lens hood at home at least, as that might sway it towards the 'professional' side for some stewards
