Unhappy Tripod knackered

The center extension thread has erm..threaded,because it was plastic so i was wondering if anyone can guide me in the right place for a nice strong cheap one,as I'm not planning in spending a lot on a tripod,i was looking at the Hama star 75 and the center seems to be stronger than my previous, and it's also cheap is this one ok?or are there any better out there?

TIA

Re: Tripod knackered

The Hama would be fine for occasional indoor stuff but isn't particularly suited to outdoor work due to its weight (it doesn't have any) so would be next to useless on all bar the very calmest days, if you can work within its limitations though then it'll be better than nothing.
