I made this last week as a backup 'round things' shot. Just in case the beach shoot didn't go well.
Anyway, just got back from the pub after another rather sucessful night at the pub poker table. Thought i'd share it. |

Nice shot. I like the way you focused on the chips rather than the obvious choice of focusing on the cards.
AK off-suit... that's worth a pre-flop raise! I played in a play-money tournament tonight and finished 35th out of 4068 entrants, then I won $7 in an on-line cash game. That's quite good for me because I love poker but am not keen on gambling so I only play the 2/4 cent tables.

Ahoy!
Now you mention it, I was going to offer this as my entry . . it still would''ve got nil points, but hey . . . . .
Mind you 'Big Slick' is definately worth raising with.

I find that a better picture than the one you entered with IMO. Although both have that 'liquid' look - don't know how but there is a certain feel to your photos.
Only comment would be I'm not fond of the hands in the background. The way they have blurred is quite distracting. Is that the lens or the way its been compressed for web?

I was a bit squiffy when I posted this last night - should have posted it in the 'not valid' thread.
It was shot at f6.3, but focused very close with the 20mm. I agree the hands in the background are a little strange, but any sharper and they became more distracting. Any softer and they looked nothing like hands; Without them the shot just didn't look right. To be honest, I didn;t really liek it, feels a bit cheesy to me. Still, I might throw it on fotolia for a laugh.
Thanks for the comments.

I Like it, but assuming those are your hands, how did you hold the camera?

Nice image overall, but I am a bit amazed that you go down to your local with a tripod and your camera.
Seems the laws have also changed regarding playing poker in a pub also.
