Fix monopod to camera, set up for self timer, turn camera upside down and rest on the toe of your shoe for that ultra low shot!

It's a good way of getting those low shots without getting your belly wet thats for sure.
Some tripods do do the low angle thing too

Auto mechanics do it with a mat..photographers with a monopod!

Thanks for the tip, I love low angle stuff, and this might be easier than fripping the head of my manfrotto.
The only probelm is - how do you frame your shot? or do you take a chance. I find it difficult enough to do when I have it reverse mounted on the tripod. Perhaps this is where live view woudl be helpful |

Even with live view how do you get that low??, the LCD is not mobile
My wifes Canon Sureshot A95 has a very versatile LCD which makes this sort of thing easier but I imagine taking a chance.. or using a UWA lens low is the other way to do it
