Thanks: Gave 1,143, Got 1,013 | Just so I don't upset anyone!
I am away in Whitby next week and will hopefully be posting pictures as they come (apparently the place I am staying in has wireless internet available )
But just to avoid the 'I live near there......why didn't you let me know' type of comments........I'm telling you now

Hi Steve,
We were in Whitby last week. Its a fantastic place to visit........and an even better place to photograph !
Great view on a sunny day from the Captain Cook statue.
Nice gothic feel to it too coupled with its links to dracula.
One of my fave places full stop |

I had heard that it was a very nice place to be. I have never been to the East coast of England before and was impressed when I saw an episode of 'Coast' on the TV. Can't wait to get away from it all for a week!!

Northumberland is somewhere else to check out too one day. Very rugged, dramatic and full of castles! Including of course Bamburgh on the coast... http://www.flickr.com/photos/81691215@N00/491336097/ |

There is also a rock outcrop called The Nab which is close by which I want to go and have a look at. Just hoping for some decent weather!

Might be worth a trip to Bempton Cliffs if you are interested in birds

Saltwick Nab features in some of Joe Cornish's landscapes. I haven't visited his website lately but there's some fantastic stuff there (IMHO anyway). He lives in the North Yorks Moors National Park and takes a lot of images locally. You might find a few sources of inspiration if you can spare the time for a browse.
My own recommendation would be to head north up the coast a little to Runswick Bay & Staithes. Have a great week
