Old photos for Digital Photo frame

Hi,
I'm looking to purchase a digital photo frame for a relative and want to set it up with some photos before giving it.

I have some on the pc and the memory card already

How do I go about getting old photos, 10yrs+ old that are not on CD or no negative on there? Do I need to go to a specialist photo shop and ask them to scan them in?

Any advice on a digital photo frame for less than £100 would also be welcomed.

Cheers all

Re: Old photos for Digital Photo frame

I was planning on buying a couple as gifts, particularly for my parents who don't have a computer but do have a digi P&S. I have struggled to find a decent selection in the shops so have looked for reviews online and the Philips one seems to come out tops. I haven't seen it below £100 though. I've seen some shockingly bad pictures on a couple though but they were cheap and cheerful so I suppose it should be expected. I'll probably be buying the Philips one in the next week or so.

You can just as easily scan them yourself to digitise them..unless you dont have a scanner.. I would imagine someone around you does. I wouldnt pay to scan a few images to get them onto a digital frame.. They dont need to be any specially high resolution

Re: Old photos for Digital Photo frame

I picked up a Philips one from John Lewis' the other day. The box was damaged but they had reduced it to £116 from £129. My folks were very impressed with it anyway and it's relatively easy to upload photos to it (built in memory). It's only a 7" screen but it's got some good features like a timer and so on. I was so impressed I bought one for myself off ebay for £90.
