Dublin, what to see / photograph

Hi all,

Off to Dublin tomorrow for a very short break away!
What should I make the time to see / photograph. I`m hoping you can all point me in the right direction, so i don`t miss the main things!

Only been there for a couple of day trips but here's a list to get you started.

Ha'penny Bridge
Molly Malone Statue on Grafton Street
Hags with the Bags sculpture at end of Ha'penny bridge
Genral Post Office (GPO) on O'Connell Street (important building in Irish history)
Spire of Dublin on O'Connell Street
Dublin Castle
Buskers in Temple Bar
Trinity College
Oscar Wilde Statue in St Stephens Green
Kilmainham Gael
Guiness Storehouse
Customs House (best seen from the liffey cruise)

Just getting your PM now so I hope it's not too late.

You're in for a treat as the weather is supposed to be great tomorrow. All of the above are good suggestions but some others worth considering are;

St. Stephens Green - a small park at the top of Grafton Street opposite the shopping centre. Very, very popular at lunchtime when there is just a hint of sun.

Iveagh Gardens - if the above is too busy head here. It's a walled garden and not too many people know about it but great for photos.

Christ Church Cathedral - tripods are allowed inside. Stunning church.

Dublin Castle - well worth a visit. There is a sand sculpture exhibition on at the moment in the courtyard.

National Museum of Ireland - get off at the Museum stop on the luas red line. IMMA (Irish Museum of Modern Art), the War Memorial Gardens and Kilmainham Gaol are close by. Kilmainham Gaol is by guided tour only but you are allowed to wander around the cells at the end of the tour without the guide.

To be honest, you won't have enough time to visit everything so just enjoy yourself and come back over another time to visit the rest.

Have a look at Dublin Tourist website for details of where each place is located.

One other thing, the tourist office is located at Suffolk Street. It's a converted church.

The Irish get very touchy when you use English words instead of Irish.

Are you going anywhere but Dublin city?

In Dublin, it's Guinness only.

The other two ... well, they're not from Dublin, so don't be surprised if you get dirty looks from Dubliners when you ask for them

There is so much to do/see in Dublin, depending on your interests.

But, you're bound to end up in a bar at some stage.

Guinness is well worth a visit, as is the Jameson Distillery. They're not too far apart either.

Other than that - Dublin Castle, Kilmainham gaol, St Stephen's Green, Merrion Square, Dail Eireann, The National Museum (photography not allowed), The National Gallery, Grafton St, Temple Bar ... and many many more places.

Don't be fooled by the stereotypical "Irish only drink Guiness" .. they're much happier with Heineken!
