Re: And The Waters Receded

Can't tell if its a photoshop mock up or a real shot because of the heavy HDR'n.

Does look pretty cool though and deffinately representative of the recent weather!!

Re: And The Waters Receded

I'd say its a mock up - a bloody good one though

Loving the colour / detail on the phone box.

Re: And The Waters Receded

Looks like a painting - Nice bit of Photoshop though. It'd be interesting to see how realistic you could make a non-HDR verion look.

Not quite.. The curent Digital Photo magazine (Aug 2007) has a tutorial by Phill Hall called "Displacement maps" which go through the technique..
That does not detract from the merits of Vulkans work and subsequent HDR though

Sorry ..our HDR tutorial is here

How to do HDR
.

.. what the displacement maps method do is allow you to create a watery reflective foreground
which is what vulkan did before applying HDR to it

A few of the of the many HDR threads
HDR Please explain...
This HDR nonsense

I think having a play with Photmatix will demystfy a lot of it ..

The only other thing is that people take pictures right from the start with different setting with later AEB or HDR in mind
