Understand Exposure & Nikon D50

Hi,

I recently purchased the "Understanding Exposure, revised edition" and I am very pleased with that book.

It has cleared a lot of my doubt but I am still not very clear about a few things.

1) Does the Nikon D50 have a "field of depth" preview button?

2) Almost throughout the entire book the author mentions something about "the camera indicating the correct exposure", How do I emulate that on the Nikon D50. I mean how do I find out if I have chosen the right exposure other than taking a picture first and checking it in the view finder.

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Regards,

Olisun

Re: Understand Exposure & Nikon D50

1) no it doesn't
2) Stick it on A (aperture priority) and select an aperture using the wheel. Look at the LCD display and it'll show the shutter speed. If you alter the aperture the shutter speed will alter to suit. The camera will work out the exposure.

Once you get used to this you can manually over/under expose.

At least thats been my work around for the past few months!.
