Vent

My photo for today

Vent

Was planning something much different to this today but as I had company I couldn't keep stopping to mess about with filters and tripods, which was the original plan.......it started raining anyway.....again!!!

Re: Vent

Another nice shot Steve. Its interesting that you always seem to (recently at least) locate the subject of your shot in the top left hand quarter of the frame.

My challenge to you for tomorrow's shot it to put it in a different corner!

... waits for Steve to come back and post loads of shots where the subject is anywhere but the top left hand corner of the frame

Re: Vent

I'd have a word with the brickie about the straightness of that lot. And the vent installer as well.

Agree on the positioning.....

Not as interesting as the blue sill I'm afraid.

Now i'm sure i'm not alone in this - I can see the Mona Lisa in the brickwork on the right hand side.

It's like that in proper old buildings, everything isn't level.......just look at the brick lower right I agree about it not being as interesting as Blue Sill

Re: Vent

Ah!!! I see what you have done there. You have made a composition that looks like the stars and stripes of the American flag. Naturally the stars in your photo are actually replaced by the stripes of the vent, thus commenting on the lack of "sparkle" and instability of homeland defence. The brickwork has been cleverly used to show the American strong and fixed (bricking themselves in) foreign policies that sometimes alienate other nations

This is fascinating. I don't know where Mona Lisa is, but 2nd row of bricks down on the right hand side, there is an image of John Lennon wearing glasses.

Re: Vent

On the 2nd row of the bricks from the bottom, the darkest brick has a picture
of Alan Johnson, the bbc journalist kidnapped in Gaza

Re: Vent

If you look carefully, you can see the corner of a vent in the top right hand section of the picture

Re: Vent

Actually - it's more like an ironic post modernist take on the American flag.
