Thanks: Gave 19, Got 14 | First online piccies! :o)
Well I needed some software that would make it quick and painless... Using Mr Site I've started at least putting pixel to internet.. I'm sure it'll change as time moves on but it only took a few minutes! http://www.nevilleward.co.uk
Comments good or bad welcome.. but be gentle..

Had a quick look and it's nice and clean with a decent layout but the site does seem a little slow, might be the time of day etc but something to watch with an images site.
Where are the second and third shots in the 'Wells' series from? Never seen that area of Well before or is it on the way to the Cathedral from the main road by the moat?

Thanks for looking!
The last 3 shots are just miscellaneous ones, only the first one is Wells, the other two are Alfred's Tower Woods and the third is at Stourhead the National Trust property, that particular building has undergone a restoration. The shot was taken before the work started..

Nice clean site - not sure I like the way you view larger images though. I think I would prefer just a straightfoward page. It seemed to load quickly, and has nice navigation.
Have to say though, I feel the copyright statment is a little over the top. It's very difficult to fully appreciate the photographs when you have text all over them. What are you trying to protect yourself from?
Also, I'm not sure if it's just me but some of the large images appear to be much lower contrast than their thumbnails.
Really liked a couple of the photographs though, especially 'Alfreds Tower Woods' Which is very nice indeed.

Thanks for your comments, all taken on board. You basically have 3 ways to present your pictures (At least, that is what I can make out so far) the current one is the one I like the best.
Interesting what you say about the thumbnail. They should be the same. The thumbnail is created by the site builder from the picture you upload, not sure what can be done about that.
I agree about the copyright thing. Mr Site only provide one type and its that one. I would prefer something a little more discreet, but still useful as I may opt to offer them for sale at some point. I might apply a copyright in Photoshop and then bypass their one. Something less obtrusive!

Nice one! My fav was the houses with large chimney pots through the arch.
I find the watermarks distracting like others, but I guess Mr Site is aimed at commercial photographers. I decided a long time ago that I would publish smallish versions (800px) and keep anything bigger to myself. Otherwise it becomes less fun to share them in the first place.

Like any site it's worth checking out with as many variations as possible. Interesting, some of your images look very flat in Opera, but in IE they're fine.

Thanks very much.
Careful angle in that Wells shot to avoid cars parked the other side!
I will change the copyright thing as soon as I'm able, I fully agree with the comments so far on that, it is distracting.
When I get a bit more time I will try and utilise more of the tools available. It was more a case of get 'something' online.
Appreciate the comments..

Odd ey, you would think pictures are pictures. Incidentally I had a peek at some of your shots on flikr, they are fabulous.

I get the following:
I would rather have a fixed title and it moved regarding what size the window was. I don't browse full screen and like sites to shift the content regarding what window size I use. Also the images to me are a little small.

Thanks for everyones comments...
pixelpixel.. Not sure about your recommendations, I'm using a template package and you're dicated by what it can do.. My intentions for site were simple really, just to get 'something' online.. The Mr site software allowed me to that in a few minutes (ideal for me!) I will probably look at something more sophisticated as time moves on, thanks for comments though...

Dude: Add Google's free analysis engine to the site and see what size screen and browser etc is being used by most of your visitors. Will let you tweak the site to your users. I am afraid you can't please everyone and it's not worth trying to, you'll get tied up in requests, coding and browsers with no end in site.
