1920x1080 Digital cameras

Hi

Other than Sony, are there any other brands which take pics at 1920x1080 so that you can view them perfectly on a HDTV?

There's no 1920x1080 but 3072 x 1728 which is also 16:9. Would this one be ok to? I guess the TV will scale down.

it depends what source your viewing the images from really. if showing from PC (best method) the PC will resize to the correct size of the TV, if creating slideshow DVD the DVD creation software will produce a video sized 720x576 (i think?) and if your using a camera > tv adapter i would think the camera would resize but i very much doubt it would be to the native res of the telly, more likely it would be something smaller.

Thats basically a long round about way of saying i wouldnt really worry about the resolution, when viewed on tv all cameras images will be around the same resolutuion so just make sure the camera has got the image quality and features you want.

You are right in that the Pixel dimensions for DV PAL are 720x 576 this is what DVD will output as

Some TV sets can display Still images as HD.. ( My Phillips HDTV has Media card reader and has a Menu option for this) but only if the images native dimensions are at least that otherwise all it will be doing is scaling the image to its native resolution

It is nice to see these images as such but the downside is that flaws also become more glaring;

I intend to view the photos from my PS3 off a USB stick. My telly at the moment has a 1366x766 resolution and the PS3 is outputting at 1080i. I intend to purchase a full HD set later this year.

I guessing this should be ok as the Casio camera has a 16:9 res option.
