The Quick Pod

I haven't seen this mentioned anywhere else, so sorry if I missed it (I did a search and everything!)

I've just seen this site: http://www.quikpod.com/Home.asp about this little lightweight tripod that is designed to be hand held (well see the site and you'll get the picture) - it comes with little feet inside the bottom so you can stand it up too. Is this a good little cheap bit of useful kit, or am I being sucked in to the gimmick? Can be bought on Play.com fairly cheaply. I know it's not a good thing for professionals, but it could come in handy?

Any thoughts?

Re: The Quick Pod

Hmm - only for compact cameras I think, where it could come in quite useful. There's lots of mini-tripods out there (and gorillapods etc).

Re: The Quick Pod

Gah! Just had the speakers cranked up from playing the 360 and the annoying TV capture they have running on that site nearly gave me a heart attack!

Make sure you turn your speakers down (or off) before clicking
