Another Minimalistic Landscape

I have just worked on another of the shots that I took on Thursday and now have a series of two shots from virtually the same spot.

Better or worse than Alone?

I'm kind of having a bit of fun with the titling, giving the trees a relationship of sorts.

Did you use a polariser?

Yep, a Cokin circular polariser on the front of my 24-105/4L. They are great for bringing the clouds and skies out.

I like the fact that more of the rapeseed is higher in the frame and I can see why you tried to balance the image with the two trees.
Alone is better IMO though and would be perfect with a bit more foreground rapeseed.... Maybe a return vist.

I do think the left tree is more interesting though and would have perhaps been a better candidate for alone..

I do have a shot of the tree on the left in a similar vein to that of 'Alone', but I decided not to use it as the horizon slopes off to the left with that tree.

Personally, I was unsure about the rapeseed being higher in fact I nearly cropped the bottom off, but I like to have all my images at the same size and I wouldn't have been able to keep the width if I had cropped it.

Alone works better for me. There is something about the 2 trees that just doesn't seem right to me

I see where your coming from and my opinion is completely subjective.

Its a really nice image.There is so much you could do with this scene.Did you venture higher up the field at all?
It might have been a nice shot to show more of the trunk of the tree,It would have perhaps added to the isolated feel.

I wish there was rapeseed fields near me.The contrast is awesome.

I couldn't get up the field as I was on a main road and didn't want to leave my bike unguarded. Also, there was a fence surrounding the field and I had visions of an angry farmer chasing me away with his blunderbus!

Despite the identical location, It is a different image, I don't think better or worse than Alone
