Thanks: Gave 248, Got 531 | Re: Thanks Oh Yeah. It's the graveyard shift. we've seen the better halves off to bed, cracked open the single malt and it's getting a bit emotional.
It's at times like this I sign in to Flickr desperately scouring my comments to reassure myself that all those photos I posted aren't just boring old snaps of crap.
Liquid's right though. A positive response or an enthusiastic answer to a question on a thread here does wonders to keep the fire burning and raise the enjoyment level of taking "phtotgaphs" .
It also helps keep the heebie jeebies at bay when you log in to your egg card account and poo pants at what you find there . Was that Sigma really worth it? Thanks to you guys, I think so.

And thanks to you too Liquid ,you have given to this forum as much as you have taken from it.A valuable member of the the forum whos comp entries and comments are appreciated by all.
Id like to also jump on the bandwagon here too(seeing as I had a glass of red or 2)and say thanks too.Ive been a member of the avforums for a few years and I have never posted as much as I have here, over the last few months.Thats probably testament to the great bunch of Guys n' Gals on here that make it such an addictive place to frequent. Its seems like I know many of you personally as your characters and personalities come through even though Ive never met any of you.
Thanks too for the top tips, advice and pointers, which has helped someone, who Has had no photography experience, and who, only started taking pictures last October, to accelerate to the point where,I had my pics in the local paper,On flickr explore more than once(which apparently is an achievement) and even sold 20 prints to a local shop.I have never been so absorbed and eager to learn about a subject before in my life and im loving it.
And I have also, never spend so much money in such a small space of time.
cheers

Hey Liquid, I think your keyboard is playing up
Since I come across this forum, it's been an inspiration to me. The input from some very knowledgeable members, including yourself, has helped my understanding of photography no ends. To see the work of some truly gifted individuals motivates me to becoming more artistic in the way I see things and the progression of some of the people on here has been an absolute pleasure to watch. What I like about this forum more than anything else though is the friendly nature and good banter. If you have a question, you know that someone will answer it in a manner that is polite and helpful.
I would also like to add my thanks to everyone here. Diolch yn fawr |

Lo folks! Just wanted to ditto Liquid's (and everyone else's) comments. Buying a DSLR was, for me, bit of a whim! Like most of my gadgets but it has opened a whole new hobby for me and it's great fun learning. The help I have had from this site has been great over the past few months. The quality of the images posted has been exceptional at times; particularly from Liquid, and has given me the inspiration to keep plugging away at it.
Cheers, Simon (early riser, no beers last night, but still managed to miss the dawn golden hour!).

Thanks Liquid101 for opening this up.
Im stone cold sober having woken up at 6.00am !
But your sentiments and others here are apt
I'm glad you've found the encouragement Inspiring:It is largely deserved
Similarly your work and words have had a similar effect on others
Perhaps what is best is the friendly non condescending nature here : it isn't that common
Keep it up Guys |

I've gone an done a onefivelive and posted while under the influence.
Still - could have been worse - and while the delivery wasn't fantastic the sentiment stands.
I have a headache this morning though. |

I have a headache this morning though. | It was great, you even managed to spell some words how you would say them under the influence, and it did not even warrant a " May i apologise to you all" thread
I think you have contributed greatly to this forum and you and all the other regular guys on here make it "probably the best forum in the world"
I have looked at a lot of other photography forums and none come anywhere
near this, i know i lose the plot now and again, but you all put up with it and help me along, any other forum would have blackballed me, and a lot of the rest of you by now
Maybe its time we had AVF Photography badge, and have a comp to design it
