Thinking of selling my Nikon 18-200mm VR

Ok so I like this lens but I tend to stick to the short end.Ive been itching to get a wideangle and Ive had my heart set on the Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6 EX DC HSM Lens, for some time.My approaching holiday makes it even more tempting.

What im thinking is, if I sell the 18-200mm I can get the wide and still have enough to get something like the Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 APO which seems to be a decent little lens, which would cover the long end..

Id appreciate your views on my idea and also Any views on the lenses I mentioned if anybody has them. Also alternatives.

cheers

But then you'd have nothing from 20-70! And that's definately the area I'd use most. If you're going to do that, look at a 17-50 kit lens. Shouldn't be at all expensive and will be useful!

Re: Thinking of selling my Nikon 18-200mm VR

I already have a 50mm and was thinking of the Sigma 24-60mm f/2.8 EX DG Lens sometime after the summer. Most of my shots seem to be around the 18mm and then 60-80mm range.

Re: Thinking of selling my Nikon 18-200mm VR

I know what you mean. I looked at the images from last years holiday in Switzerland and only 10% out of a large number of images were above 120mm (35mm equiv) which equates to about 80mm in reality.

So I am thinking about getting the new Carl Zeiss Vario Sonnar T* DT 16-80mm which covers 24-120mm (35mm equiv) and will give a serious upgrade in IQ. It's about £460 at present but it should come down in price.

Yeah i know someone who's got the Sigma 10-20mm and he has some great shots using it, its not a bad price too. It's also cheaper than the alternative Canon 10-20mm
