Couple of St Ives

Had a walk into St Ives town (the one between Cambridge and Huntingdon) and took a few pics whilst I was there. Some cropping, sharpening and saturation tweaks were applied. Exif info is embedded.

Slowly figuring out the camera

I like #2. A very tranquil scene. All we need is another 10C and you'll be sitting out having a nice cold beer watching the world go by.

Re: Couple of St Ives

It was a little chilly this evening, but I'm hoping the weather picks up for the weekend as there are a couple of local country parks that I want to try and get to

I'm even closer - in Needingworth.

I keep meaning to get down to the bridge in the evening to get some sunset type shots...one of these days I might just make it!

Burser, I think that number 2 would look really nice with some heavy cloud or a nice evening sunset. the view looks good but just needs the right sky to really bring it out..
Not sure what is to the right of the image, but perhaps more of that building which would off set the church tower nicly..

Re: Couple of St Ives

The building on the right is some tea rooms. The shot is taken from a bridge over the river, so framing might be a little tricky to get more of the building in.

If it's a pleasant evening again, I might take another walk down there tonight.

Personally i think this place is an ideal location, a second look draws me to the boatman in the center, but the man to the far laft standing on the bank is to me annoying, for what its worth, if the sky line is similar on another visit i would up the shutter speed.
Look forward to seeing another shot...

regards
