please help me with RAW !!

Hi everyone - I have just set up a new laptop - I have put the following on it:

Adobe Photoshop
Canon EOS viewer software - the disc that came with the camera.

I have set my Canon 20D up to take pics in large format plus RAW - but I seem to have a problem when I take the pics off the camera !!

When I open up EOS viewer and look at the content on the camera I can see the RAW images - with the RAW+JPEG tag on them.

but when I open the camera through MY COMPUTER and then the CANON 20D icon I now cannot see the RAW images !!! only JPEG versions

any help would be great thanks - I had the same software on my other laptop and it let me view and copy the RAW images over -so cant quite understand what is different !!

Thanks

AJ

Re: please help me with RAW !!

I think that I have seen something like this.

Your best bet is to download the RAW thumbnail software for windows, that way you should be able to see your .CR2 files in windows. You should be able to see the .CR2 files on your camera??

I would get up the courage (took me a while) to just shoot RAW.

Ian.

Re: please help me with RAW !!

hellooo- I can see the RAW pics in EOS viewer and discovered I can just drag and drop them from there into another folder - so seem to have got it sussed for now -

But now I cant get photoshop to open the CR2 files !!!! - do I need a plug in or do I need another piece of software. I reckon I must have installed something on my old laptop that I had forgotten about - but it seemed to allow me to alters levels etc on the RAW file.

good grief - I think I am having a technophobe day !! hahaha

Re: please help me with RAW !!

Go to this site and get the Adobe RAW plugin.

http://www.adobe.com/support/downloa...jsp?ftpID=3560

That should help.
