I know this isn't a camera/photography question(have loads of them too), but lots of you guys here have been doing it  
How do I/You change a full URL into a 'one word' or 'phrase' to post on forums
e.g. make my flikr url below look like "click here" http://www.flickr.com/photos/48433318@N00/?
Any help appreciated, Tom.

Click on insert link icon.
Paste in link
This adds the link and a highlighted repeated link.
delete the highlighted bit and type in your words.
The post will appear with"your words" as the link.  | |

The simplest (IMO) method is to type the complete post. Then highlight the word that you want to become a link, click the Insert Link button & enter/paste the URL for your link. Job done.  |

It's not just words that can appear as links either.
