Not another 24-70mm f/.2.8L v 24-105mm f/4.0 L thread surely

Why don't we make this a once and for all sticky.

1) If you buy either lens, you won't be disappointed by it.

2) place post here

But what about the 16-35mm f/2.8. Surely that will overlap the wide end of either lens? What a waste! Arg! I can't cope! Going into mental overload! lkjashdljsaflkhfdahfkl

 I've been drooling over both the 24-70 f/2.8 and the 70-200 f/2.8 (interest free credit for 9 months... hmm...) but one of my thoughts/concerns was the overlap with the (awesome) 16-35 f/2.8, too

Good idea for a thread.
Im sure most people realise the 24-105L is way better than the 24-70L
At least from 71mm-105mm anyway.
And thats the thing. if you want a longer reach then you dont by a lens with a shorter reach IMHO and that point seemed to help me decide to get the 24-105L.
