Coloured filters

Was watching CSI Miami earlier this week and being amazed by the colours the camera operator was getting on some shots, really intense reds and orange's, I suspect they are using coloured filters or graduated ones.

Do these work OK on digital camera's or is it easier to use a filter in photoshop or Picasa ?

Re: Coloured filters

Just tried it on Picasa, difference is amazing, first one without Picasa filter, second one with.

Turns a naff shot into a good one (IMHO that is)
