Where Can I Get a Compact Flash to SD Adapter

CF to SD card adapter, does such a thing exist?

I've looked everywhere but all I can find is the other way round, a SD to CF adapter.

I need it to view photo from my CF on my PDA which only has a SD card slot.

not seen one of them in my time mate, cant you hook the pda to your pc and transfer it over? if need be you could move the file from a CF to an SD using a card reader but ive never seen an adaptor

Re: Where Can I Get a Compact Flash to SD Adapter

Or simply get a multi card usb reader , connect to PC , transfer the image to the PC from the CF card, then transfer the image on PC back to the SD card which your PDA uses.
( Im not sure if thats what Ush was trying to say as well)

yep but thats what i was talking about but if you put both cards in at the same time you can just copy/paste or drag and drop from one to the other

Re: Where Can I Get a Compact Flash to SD Adapter

It is possible if the Pc sees either slot as a separate "removable disc".
I must admit Ive never tried it that way before.
At any rate it may well be safer to copy to PC from CF first and then from PC back to SD card just in case there is a problen during the copy from card to card directly ( if this is possible)

Re: Where Can I Get a Compact Flash to SD Adapter

My multi-card USB reader allocates each device slot an independent driver letter (under XP) and allows direct copy from CF card to SD card. I used to transfer images to my T5 this way but now use Bluetooth.

Re: Where Can I Get a Compact Flash to SD Adapter

Thanks for all the replies.

The problem is when i'm out and about with the PDA (Loox 560, SD slot only) and Camera (Nikon D70, CF card), I'd like to view the photos on the PDA.

I've tried looking for a multi card reader and connecting to the PDA via the USB host cable, but the card reader can only draw up to 100mA else it won't work (they all seem to be higher than this).

At a recent computer far I must have tried about 10 multi-card readers (they don't show the mA spec) on my PDA and none of them worked.
My USB pen drive works fine on the PDA though, as does connecting my camera to it (so may have to resort to this cumbersome method)

So I've decide to ditch this idea and go for a 'CF to SD' reader, which is proving to be even more elusive!

Re: Where Can I Get a Compact Flash to SD Adapter

Rather than a multi card reader, have you tried a CF only such as this one?

Only other option I can see is to ditch the Loox for something with both SD & CF like a Dell x50/1 or an iPaq HX4700.

Or maybe try to find a FlashTrax XT. Has a CF slot, PDA sized screen & an internal HDD to offload the CF card to. Staples were clearing the 40Gb model recently.

If it exists I havent seen one .
A multi card reader is a lot easier to find and these will not work with the PDA

I have seen a USB flash drive with SD expansion slot which may work with the camera but its a long shot.

Thanks

I have tried a similar one (and old usb 1.1 only) and that didn't work.
I need to know the mA rating (must be less than 100mA), which it doesn't show.

Ditching teh Loox is not an option. I looked at the Dell when I was in the markrt and the CF slot almost swung it, but the lack of GPS and usb host put me off.
