Transferring digital pictures to CD-R in 16X9

I have a sony HDRC1 camcorder which has a memory stick facility for digital still. Using the firewire connection it easily transfers the widescreen digital stills to my computer and shows them in the 16x9 format. When I transfer these stills to a CD-R the pictures are not in the correct format when I play the disc. There are black bands above and below the image Any ideas as to what is causing this and how it can be rectified?
Many thanks
Charles

What are you using to play the disk? ...a DVD player and TV or the PC you created the disk with?

Re: Transferring digital pictures to CD-R in 16X9

Thanks for your reply. The pictures are not correct when played either on the computer or a DVD player connected to the TV,connecting the memory stick direct to the computer or TV is fine. Also the images shown on the computer screen which have been downloaded to the hard disc are fine.It is only when they are transferred to a CD-R that there ia a problem.

How do you burn your images to cd ? Just as raw images or as a photo cd ?

Re: Transferring digital pictures to CD-R in 16X9

Can you tell us the dimensions of the images on the memory stick compared to the same images on the CD-R.

i.e. if you open a window and select the 'details' view it will tell you how many pixels the file contains in the dimensions collumn.

For example my camera takes photos that are 3456 x 2304 pixels.
