Digital Camera in the £150-£230 Price Range
Hello everyone
I am thinking about buying a compact digital camera. I haven't bought one before, and my experience of using one is quite limited.
I am looking for a very good, all-round (one that works well in low lit places, indoors, outdoors, good video functionality, clear picture etc.) Compact Digital Camera within the £150-£230 price range. I'd like to have one that has more than 5m pixels.
I have been briefly browsing around for one, for the past few months. I've visited a few review sites, but there is just too much to take in and it seems rather difficult to compare cameras as they're are just so many of them.
I'm not looking to go into professional photography or anything, but photography is an interest of mine. I would be snapping shots in various places and in various lighting.
Currently, I have my eyes set on this. The Sony W100 as it seems to be about £300 everywhere else, and it looks pretty good.
Any help will be much appreciated.

Take a look at the Panasonic TZ1. It has Optical Image Stabilisation, 10x optical zoom, and 5mp to boot.
Quite a package.

Thank you for that. I will look at that in more detail when I reach home. Anybody have any more suggestions?

Well, the Panasonic TZ1 seems to be above my price range, coming in at £300.
Also, where is the cheapest place to buy a digital camera?

£300 . . I think not . . take a look!
Ahoy Ify!
£300? No way! For £221.59, check: Purelygadgets (they provide an 18 month warranty in the price), and with delivery of £5.00 it still falls short of your maximum figure.

Thank you for the links Pirate!! and 38H21543, but I have been to the review sites before. I'm looking for specific camera's that people recommend that come within the price range.

2.5in screen
small body
6 million pixels

The best bargain at the moment is the Fuji F11 @ £135 delivered from Jessops (with 10% off voucher)
Fully auto works fine, apeture priority, shutter priority for those that want to use it. Battery lasts a long time, I have taken 270 with mine so far and charge still shows full. Takes less than 2 seconds from your pocket to the first snap.
I can't believe nobody else has suggested this camera.
