Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 EX DG HSM

Popped into Jessops earlier to buy a rocket blower, I know the chap in there and noticed they had this lens in, (£599, lower than the Jessops website price).

Wow, it's really something else! The 77mm front is just massive, feels really solid too. Threw it on a 350d+grip and sized it up. Definately a monopod/tripod candidate. Had to give it back after a queue was forming behind me

Totally agree, have used one for about 20 minutes on my 1D and it's awesome.

One of Sigma's best lenses, along with the 100-300mm f4, 24-70mm f2.8 and 50-500mm. Probably wouldn't consider using it on the 300 or 350D without a grip, i would imagine it to feel very strange!

The only thing that's stopping me from buying is:

A: I don't have the money for it.
B: The Canon 70-200mm f2.8 IS L is the only 70-200mm lens I need every buy.... even if it is twice the cost, i would never need to upgrade.
C: B is cancelled out by A

Ah huh, I didn't get a chance to take any shots, the demo 350d had no batteries

I wanted a 70-200 I could lug around my neck all day, so ordered the Canon F4/L which should be fine

Agree about the 2.8 IS L, it's a tank and would last years!

Great lens, and you can buy mint used ones for £350-£375 easily. I had one but chopped it in for the quite stunning Nikkor 70-200mm f2.8 VR.

I bought mine on Ebay...mint glass just superficial scratches on the body but minus the tripod mount for £190...a bargain...a couple of pics taken with it
