Got my 350d (took the bait at last!) woohoo!

After umming and aaring I eventually took the bait and have just collected my EOS350d. Battery is on charge as we speak

I went for the standard kit as I'm new to the whole dslr thing. No doubt I'll end up getting hooked like many of you on here and purchase more lenses etc once I get a handle of it (in fact it was seeing one in the flesh so to speak on Saturday, and this forum which finally made my mind up for me to get it).

Got a Ultra II 1gb Sandisk CD card for £40 (following wise advice on here I didn't go for anything faster or bigger, depending on how many images I take I can always purchase more cards).

Come on battery - charge I say, CHARGE!!!!!

Thanks again to those who gave me advice in making my choice.

Its a great little camera this. Had mine nearly a year now and just coming up on 3000 images through it.

It all goes down hill from here, as far as the old bank balance in concerned, you'll be passing a camera shop and think mmm, wonder what that battery grip is like? extra battery would be nice ohh could do with that flash, wide angle zoom etc etc

All great fun mind!

hope you enjoy it.

Tried some long exposure night shots on mine a few months ago. Got pulled over by the cops on my way home after i'd finished.

The joy of digital is that I could show them what i'd shot and convinced them that I wasn't up to no good!!

I just got one too, new to photography but I was well chuffed with it once I got it.

Not I just have to learn how to use it.

Come from ownig a Canon Ixus 500, everytime I was on holiday I always had issues with taking long distance photo's due to the limited zoom.

Can anyone recommend the best lense at an affordable price for long range shots, I got the 18-55mm one. Not sure how good the range is on it yet.
