Just taken delivery of my 50mm f1.8 II
Can't wait to see what I can get out of this lens but will have to wait until next week when i'm off work to do anything serious

Awesome lens Steve, mine arrived from ebay last sat too! Great DOF and bokeh effect, pin sharp as well.... going to try some portrait stuff with the bad boy |

Just popped it on the camera and i'm getting a CF card error and then a 'err 99'

Any luck with the usual turn off, clean contacts stick it back on? also note the EF alignment mount. (I'm sure you knew that tho)

1) Try camera with another lens to ensure camera (and CF card are still OK)
2) Fully charge battery
3) Check lens contacts

When turned on the camera says 'Err cf' and when I try and format the card I get 'Err 99'

Steve,
Make sure you've not bent a pin inserting the CF card....
They can be bent back CAREFULLY.
Try another card.
Error 99 is a generic error code, might be a faulty lens or contacts, or just follow error 'cf' if the camera throws a wobbly...try another lens.
Power off when swapping card or lens

K. | Card should ALWAYS be formatted in camera NOT on the 'ol Pee Cee... |
