Canon 300D?????

I have found a Canon 300D for sale as below

Canon E0S300D digital
£399.00
SLR, with 18 & 55mm standard lens, plus 28 - 200mm F3.5 zoom lens, bag, CF card/software & box, vgc

Would you say that is a good price??

what would I be giving up compared to 350D/D50?? (D50 being my prefered due to it's comfort at holding it - all things considered)

The 300D is the older version of the 350D:

The 300D is 6.2mp, the 350D is 8mp
The 350D has a newer chip in it, which enables faster speeds, the 300D starts up in 3 seconds, the 350D starts up n 0.2 seconds.
The 300D fires at 2.5 frames/sec, the 350D does 3, but also has a buffer so you can take 14 at the rate of 3/sec.
The 300D is bigger than the 350D.

Personally I went for a 350D as I like the fact that it starts up very quick, you can get better action shots (perfect for capturing a childs portrait), has a better resolution (helpful when cropping), and is smaller, which I like.
You won't be disppointed with either, you just have to copmare them both and see if it is worth spend the extra money, you can get the 350D with 18-55 for £498.

Yes its a very good price, I have a 300d and its a great camera, flashed with undutchables to unlock some of those 10d features Canon so lazily forgot to include

The comfort thing is the main thing imo when choosing a camera.

Picture wise and features wise all current consumer DSLR's are pretty close, its the glass you're going to end up sticking on the front that will make all the difference and thats where the costs will start to rack up. I've just bought the Sigma 10-20 for £320 which is my first serious purchase as far as lenses are concerned, decent macro will be next on the list

So that said if you haven't already bought into one or other system yet! then go for the camera you feel most comfortable with and just enjoy it

Yup, you could crush a 350 if you've big hands....

Not a 300 in this pic...but you get the idea eh..

Size does matter......
